Join the Northern Blues Forest Collaborative for a full-day field tour to the Lower Joseph
Project Area on the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, Wallowa Mountains Ranger District.


Participants will gain a firsthand look at how restoration projects are planned,
implemented, and adapted to meet ecological, operational, and economic objectives.
Along the way, we'll discuss the decisions, tradeoffs, and partnerships that shape
restoration work on the ground.

This tour will:

- Provide insight into the tree-marking process and challenges

- Examine the challenges of implemention, including changing timber markets, contractor capacity, and evolving practices.

- See the effects of a prescribed burn one year post-implementation


*Please bring water, lunch, and appropriate clothes and footwear; the tour will include a fair amount of
walking on uneven surfaces. If you need special accommodations, please note those in the registration link
